Gods were carved in stone.
Your story is carved in ink.
Nothing here is rushed. Nothing here is repeated.
You arrive with a story.
We sit with it, together.
The story is drawn.
Line by line, until it is yours.
The needle speaks last.
What it says is permanent.
A hall of offerings. Healed work, worn daily.
Burcu is our founder and main resident artist at Poseidon Ink Malta in Sliema. After building her practice in Istanbul, she brought it to the island, working across black & grey realism, illustrative blackwork, geometric and ornamental work, colour and neo-traditional pieces, and fine line & lettering.
Every tattoo starts with a conversation, not a flash sheet. You meet Burcu, talk through the idea, and see the design before anything touches skin, each piece drawn custom to the body it will live on.
The temple stands in Sliema.

Keep the wrap on as long as Burcu tells you, usually a few hours. If your piece left the studio sealed in a healing film, follow The Film below instead. Wash gently with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free soap, pat dry with clean paper towel, and apply a thin layer of Bepanthol Tattoo Ointment. No re-wrapping unless you were told to.
Wash twice a day and balm two or three times a day, always with clean hands. Loose, clean clothing over the piece. Itching and light peeling are normal. Do not scratch, do not pick.
Keep it moisturised. The surface can look dull or milky before it clears, and colours settle as the skin finishes. Let every flake fall on its own. Most pieces are surface-healed by week four.
Healed ink lives longest in the shade. SPF 50 on every exposed piece, every time, and keep the skin moisturised. If a line needs attention after healing, message the studio.
Some pieces leave the studio sealed in a transparent healing film, Second Skin or Derm Shield. If yours did, this replaces the first days of washing.
The film stays on for 24 to 72 hours, or as long as Burcu tells you, sometimes up to five days. Short showers are fine. No hot water and no soaking: no baths, no pools, no sea, no hot tubs. Ink, blood and plasma pooling under the film is normal. It looks worse than it is.
Removing it: peel slowly under warm running water, pulling the film back low and close to the skin, never straight up. Wash the piece with a fragrance-free soap, pat dry with clean paper towel, and begin the routine above with a thin layer of the aftercare balm.
If the seal breaks early and water or dirt gets underneath, take the film off completely, wash the piece, and continue standard aftercare. Never reapply a used film.
Mild redness and a little fluid are normal. Severe redness, blisters, a rash, growing pain, foul-smelling discharge, real swelling or fever are not: remove the film and seek medical advice.
While healing: no sea, no pools, no direct Mediterranean sun. Salt, chlorine and UV are the three fastest ways to ruin fresh ink. After healing, SPF always.
Message the studio on WhatsApp. You talk through the idea with Burcu, agree a date, and a deposit secures it. The deposit comes off the final price.
Small tattoos start at 50 EUR, and the summer offering covers one, two or three small pieces. Larger custom work is quoted after the consultation.
Eighteen. Bring a photo ID, no exceptions.
Less than the stories say, more than nothing. Placement matters most, ribs and hands bite, arms and legs are kinder. Sessions include breaks whenever you need them.
Sleep well, eat before you arrive, and drink water. No alcohol for 24 hours before the session. Wear loose clothing that keeps the placement easy to reach.
The surface settles in two to four weeks. Deeper layers keep settling for up to eight. The Healing section covers it stage by stage.
No sea, no pools, no direct sun until fully healed. This is Malta, the sun will wait for you. After healing, SPF 50 always.
Yes. If a healed piece needs attention, message the studio with a photo and Burcu will book you in.
Yes, cover-ups and reworks are part of Burcu's practice. Send a clear photo of the existing piece on WhatsApp and the consultation starts from there.
Booked consultations come first, but if the chair is free, walk in. Message ahead the same day to be sure.
